At the beginning of my career, I practically used paper and images. Little by little, I felt the need to include photographs and other materials, such as fabrics, lace, crockery (usually broken), resulting in montages.
I also use materials from my private collection, mainly those from my maternal grandmother, giving them an even stronger and more special meaning. My grandmother was my safe haven, my inspiration as a strong woman and warrior.
In thrift stores, second-hand bookstores and antiques fairs, I look for abandoned trinkets full of forgotten stories.
All my choices are “felt”, much more than “seen”. And the choices are made much more by the images and objects themselves than by my selection.
